President and part owner of the Ebbets/McKeever Exhibition Company and Vice President  and part owner of the Brooklyn National Baseball Club (parent company of the Brooklyn Superbas ( later becoming the Brooklyn Dodgers) was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 19, 1859. Gained his fortune in the contracting and building business from 1886 through 1899 and his return to Brooklyn.  Feeling a cash flow problem due to cost overruns and delays in the construction of Ebbets Field in Brooklyn, the owner of the Brooklyn baseball club, Charles Ebbets sold 50% of the club stock to Edward McKeever and his older brother for approximately $500,000.  The McKeever Brothers connections in the contracting and building business helped remedy delays in the construction of Ebbets Field that  allowed for it to open in April of 1913. Edward McKeever became President of the Brooklyn National Baseball Club upon the death of Charles Ebbets on April 18, 1925. During Charles Ebbets funeral, Edward McKeever (who had already been fighting a cold) contracted Pneumonia and died 11 days after his business partner on April 29, 1925.
