Landowner.Knight of Dartford, Kent. Third son of Sir Arthur Darcy and Mary Carew. Grandson of Sir Thomas Darcy and Dowasbel Tempest. Edward attended Trinity College at Cambridge in 1561, then from Stamford, Yorkshire. He was admitted to the Inner Temple in November of 1561. Edward married Elizabeth Astley, the daughter of Thomas Astley of Writtle and Mary Denny, the daughter of Sir Anthony. They had four sons and nine daughters; Sir Robert, Christopher, Devereux, Carew, Katherine; wife of William West, Elizabeth; wife of William Bate, Anne; wife of Sir Caldecott, Frances; wife of Thomas Carew, Phillipe; wife of Dr Thomas Pattison, Mary; wife of Richard Harris, Dorothy, Philadelphia and Isabel.Edward was knighted on 23 April 1603 and granted the Dartford Priory for life in 1606.   Family links:  Parents:  Arthur Darcy (____ – 1561)
