Poet. Born in Puerto de Santa María, Cádiz, Andalucía, Spain, hw founded the revolutionary magazine “Octubre” and fought against the dictatorship of Francisco Franco. He is best remembered for his books “Marinero en tierra” (1924), “Sobre los ángeles” (1928), and “Entre el clavel y la espada” (1939).
