Wyatt Eaton

Artist. He was born in Philipsburg (Quebec, Canada) and died in Newport (Rhode Island). He studied in National Academy of Design in New York. Later, from 1872 to 1876, he moved to Paris, where studied in l’École des Beaux-Arts. He was one of the founders of the Society of American Artists. Among his paintings are “The Gleaner,” “Portrait of a Man,” “Monsieur Coclèze,” “Sir William Van Horne,” “Autoportrait,” Farmer’s Boy” and “Mother and Child.” (bio by: José L Bernabé Tronchoni)
