Anne Ward Murphy

Actress. Born in Long Island, New York, she received a master’s degree in speech and education from Adelphi University, and later became a professor at Suffolk Community College, all while acting at the same time. She appeared in several stage plays including, “Snow White” “A Funny Thing Happened” “Can’t Take It With You” “A Chorus Line” and “A Christmas Carol.” One of the highlights of her career was when she placed second in the search for the lead role in the film, “Scarlett” which was the sequel to the 1939 classic, “Gone With The Wind.” (bio by: K)
