Alberta Vaughn

Actress. Pert, saucy comedienne of silent films and early talkies. Many of Vaughn’s roles were in spoofs of popular dramatic movies of the time. Her credits include “Rough and Ready” (1923), “Nip and Tuck” (1923),  “The Going of Cumming” (1924),  “The Fast Male” (1925),  “The Vanishing Armenian” (1925),  “The Big Charade” (1926),  “Forbidden Hours” (1928),  “Speed” (1931),  “Working Girls” (1931),  “Midnight Morals” (1932),  and “Randy Rides Alone” (1934).  Vaughn was born in Ashland,  Kentucky.  She entered films as a Mack Sennett Bathing Beauty and was a “WAMPAS Baby Star” in 1924.  Her career faded with talkies and she retired in 1936.  In 1954 Vaughn resurfaced for an episode of TV’s “This Is Your Life” honoring Mack Sennett,  then returned to obscurity.   (bio by: Bobb Edwards)
