Walter Hampden died of a stroke and was cremated in 1955. He is best known for his performance as the stages’ Cyrano de Bergerac. He was president of the Players Club from 1928 until 1954.He starred in “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” and”All This and Heaven Too”. He was survived by his actress wife, Mable Moore.
