Actor. Born Joseph George Geil, in Los Angeles County, California, Gyle is best remembered for playing the role of bully ‘Corky’ in several of the Our Gang and Little Rascal films of the 1930s. Some of these include, “Bored Of Education” (1936), “Mail And Female” (1937), “Our Gang Follies Of 1938” (1937), “Clown Princes” (1939), “Cousin Wilbur” (1939), and “The New Pupil” (1940). Also a talented dancer, he appeared at the age of 11, with Shirley Temple in the musical revue, “Young People.” He also worked with Debbie Reynolds, and appeared in over 14 musicals with Donald O’Connor and Peggy Ryan, mainly for Universal Studios. In 1956, Gyle formed the trio, “The Vogues”, with friends Bob Bush and Diana Hale. The three appeared on such television programs as The Tonight Show, and Dick Clark’s American Bandstand. They were also once the opening act for Frank Sinatra when he appeared at the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
