Freeman Fisher Gosden

Actor. He was a popular comedian performer, fondly remembered for the voice roles of Amos Jones and George “Kingfish” Stevens on the radio “Amos and Andy Show” from 1928 to 1955. He also appeared in the films “Check and Double Check” (1930), “The Lion Tamer” (1934), “The Big Broadcast of 1936” (1935) and on the television series “Calvin and the Colonel”. He died at age 83 in Los Angeles, California and was posthumously inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 1988. (bio by: John “J-Cat” Griffith)
