Child Actor. Born one of a set of identical twins in Malta, Ohio, he and his brother were numbered among the first stars of the “Our Gang” comedy shorts. They appeared in three shorts together; “Our Gang,” “Fire Fighters,” and “One Terrible Day” in 1922, and Winston in an additional two; “A Pleasant Journey” and “Lodge Night” in 1923. Rumor had it that Weston was either not interested in continuing in the business, or alternately, that the pair were phased out of the series when they failed to garner the popularity attained by other characters. The brothers appeared together as Lost Boys in the 1924 film version of “Peter Pan;” it was to be their last screen appearence. On New Year’s Day 1934, following the heaviest 24 hour rainfall ever documented at that time, a flood originating in drain off from the San Gabriel Mountains rushed into Los Angeles leading 20 foot walls of water. The twenty year old twins numbered among the more than 40 bodies pulled from the flood waters, another 75 were listed as missing, more than 200 homes destroyed. The brothers were interred in a shared grave at Woodlawn Memorial Cemetery in Santa Monica.
