Enrique Diosdado (Enrique Diosdado)
Actor. Diosdado was a Spanish screen and stage leading actor. Diosdado began his career as a journalist. In the early 30s, Diosdado entered in the stage company of Pierrá and Martí and he later became the first actor in Margarita Sirgu’s stock company. Forced into exile, he settled in Argentina with his wife, the prestigious actress Amelia de la Torre. In the mid-40s, they returned to Spain and they created their own stage company. He then became an award-winning stage and screen actor in a career that spanned more than 50 years. Diosdado’s best performances on stage include “De muy Buena Familia,” “La Sirena Dorada,” “Yerma” and “La Duquesa de Benamejí.” On screen, he acted in “Bodas de Sangre,” “La Dama Duende,” “Madame Bovary,” Robert Rossen’s “Alexander the Great” and “Un Ángel Pasó por Brooklyn.” (bio by: José L Bernabé Tronchoni) Family links: Spouse: Isabel Gisbert* Children: Ana Diosdado (1938 – 2015)* *Calculated relationship
