Hildegard Krekel

Actress. Her most famous role was that of the daughter Rita in the 1970s German TV series “Ein Herz und eine Seele” (“One Heart and One Soul”), the German version of the BBC series “Till Death Do Us Part”, which was also re-made in the United States as “All in the Family”. She began her career at the age of 6, appearing on WDR Radio in a children’s program, and her first big success was her role (at 15) in the 1969 TV movie “Die Ratten” by Gerhard Hauptmann. She also spent three years in the cast of the German version of “Sesame Street”.She dubbed many English-speaking movies into German and was the German voice for both Bette Davis and Helen Mirren. She was also known for her long running role in the German soap opera “Die Anrheiner” from 1998 to 2011 and its sequel “Ein Fall für die Anrheiner”, which began in 2011. (bio by: Kenneth Gilbert)
