Peter Copley

Actor. He was a performer of the British stage, films and television since the 1930s. He was born in Bushey, Hertfordshire, England and educated at the Old Vic School before beginning his career on stage in 1932. After his first memorable film role in the 1950 picture “Golden Salamander”, Copley had credits in “The Card” (1950), “Foreign Intrigue” (1956), “The Knack” (1965), “Help!” (1965), “Quatermass and the Pit” (1967), “The Shoes of the Fisherman” (1968) and “Empire of the Sun” (1987). Among his television credits are “Danger Man”, “The Saint”, “The Avengers” and “Doctor Who”. He was formerly married to actress Pamela Brown. (bio by: C.S.)
