Jon Cedar

Actor. He was a veteran character performer fondly remembered for his role as Corporal Langenscheidt on the TV sitcom “Hogan’s Heroes”, from 1965 to 1971. He began his career as a child traveling the country with his family appearing in off-Broadway and in national tour shows. Settling in California, he did many performances with the Players Ring Hollywood theater troupe, when he was cast on the “Ben Casey” TV series in 1962. He soon became a constant regular on television, appearing in countless programs such as “Mission: Impossible”, “Barnaby Jones”, “The Rockford Files”, “Kojak”, “Moonlighting”, “Matlock” and “Murder She Wrote”. He also wrote, produced and appeared in the film “The Manitou” (1978), starring Tony Curtis. His other feature film credits included “The Quick and the Dead” (1963), “Shell Shock” (1964), “Little Cigars” (1973), “Foxy Brown” (1974) and “Death Hunt” (1981). He died of leukemia at age 80.
