Sergei Bodrov, Jr (Sergei Bodrov)
Russian Actor, Director and Writer. Born in 1971 to Russian director and producer Sergei Bodrov Sr., he graduated from Moscow State University with a Ph.d in Architecture of Venetian Art during the Renaissance. In 1996 he appeared in the film, “Kavkazskij Plennik” for which he won a Nika Award for his performance. In 1997 he appeared in the film, “Brat” and soon became one of Russia’s best known and beloved actors. He also appeared in the films, “Bear’s Kiss” (2002), “Vojna” (2002), “The Quickie” (2001), “Syostry” (2001), “Brat 2” (2000), “Est-Quest” (1999), “The Stringer” (1997), and “Belyj Koroli, Krasnaya Koroleva (Russkiye)” (1992). He also hosted the television series, “Poslednij Geroj” (2002). On September 20, 2002, he travelled to the Karmadon Canyon in the Caucaus Mountains to direct the film, “Messenger” where he was killed in an avalanche. His body was never found. (bio by: K)
