Claude Blanchard

Canadian Comedian, Actor, and Singer.  A native of Joliette, Quebec, Blanchard made his television debut in 1959 on “En haut de la pente douce,” He would continue to return to television throughout his career with numerous different roles and sketches with his most recent being “Music Hall” in 2002 and “Virginie” from 1996 until his death in 2006. In 1970, he was given his own variety show, “Variétés Claude Blanchard,” which he hosted until 1974. It was on this variety show that he created his most well known character of Nestor, a young boy who loved to sing. In 1975, he made his big screen debut in Marcel Lefebvre’s “Mustang” and would later appear in several other films, such as “Gina” (1975), “Jésus de Montréal” (1989), “On Dangerous Ground” (1996), and “Aujourd’hui ou Jamais” (1998).
