Michel Auclair

Actor. Born as Vladimir Vujovic in Koblenz, Germany, he made his screen debut in Jean Cocteau’s classic “La Belle et la Bête” (“Beauty and the Beast”,  1946). He also worked in the United States, notably in “Funny Face” (1957),  with Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire. Auclair appeared in over 100 films, among them “Les Maudits” (1946), “Si Versailles m’était conté” (1954), “Tres Hombres van a Morir” (1954), “Andrea Chénier” (1955), “Der Fuchs von Paris” (1957), “Le Rendez-vous de Minuit” (1961), “L’Education Sentimentale” (1962), “The Day of the Jackal” (1973), “Mille Milliards de Dollars” (1982), “El Señor Presidente” (1983) and “Torquemada” (1989). In television he is remembered as Luis de Santángel in “Christopher Columbus” (1985).  (bio by: José L Bernabé Tronchoni)
