Richard Mann Allan

Actor. Born in Jacksonville, Illinois. Born into a family of three siblings to a farmer. Richard began dance lessons at the age of seven. He began his career in 1945, in the Broadway show The Red Mill, he would later go on tour with them. In 1953 Marilyn Monroe personally picked him to play a small part as her boyfriend in Niagara. After receiving minor roles in the following years he went to Germany and played parts in three hit movies. The Simple Girl, Casino de Paris, And in the evening in the Scala. He returned to the United States in 1964 and worked as a nightclub dancer. Richard earned a scholarship at the University of Illinois and continued his study until being drafted into the Army. He was honorably discharged with the ranking of Sergeant. He moved to Kentucky in the 1980’s to be near his relatives. He died at the age of 76.
