Jane Cowl (Jane Cowl)
Actress. Born Grace Bailey in Boston, Massachusetts, she made her Broadway debut in the play “Dorothy Vernon of Haddon Hall” on the night of her twentieth birthday in 1903. She was known for her interpretation of Shakespearean roles, playing Juliet in over 1000 consecutive performances in 1923. She made her screen debut in the lead role of the silent film “Garden of Lies” (1915), followed by “The Spreading Dawn” (1917). For the next 30 years she returned to the stage before appearing in the film “Payment on Demand” which was released in 1951, shortly after her death in Santa Monica, California.
