Cesar Award-Winning Actress. A prolific star of the French big and small screens, she was honored with her country’s equivalent of the Oscar as Best Supporting Actress for 2012’s “Le Prenom”. Raised in Paris, she was drawn to show business early, studied at the Cours Flourent, and trained at the distinguished National Chaillot Theatre School prior to her 1986 silver screen bow in Francis Huster’s “On a vole Charlie Spencer”. Valerie was to become a film and television regular, gradually increasing the importance of her parts; she appeared in the 1988 made-for-television “Palace”, had a reoccurring role on the series “Kaamelott”, earned praise as Elie in the 1997 feature “La verite si je mens”, became familiar to television viewers as attorney Nadia Botkin on the long-running “Advocats & associes” (“Lawyers & Associates”), and starred as Alice in the 2006 “Coummie t’y es belle”. No stranger to the stage, she was acclaimed for a 1992 presentation of Moliere’s “La Princesse ‘Elide”; though ill, she was cast as Elisabeth in the 2012 “Le Prenom”, earning a 2013 Cesar for her performance.
