Brigid Bazlen

Actress. She was discovered at the age of seven when an NBC executive saw her waiting for a school bus in front of her home. For two years she played the role of the daughter on an early television soap opera called Hawkins Falls which was produced in Chicago. In 1958, she played the self titled role of “The Blue Fairy” on the Peabody Award winning children’s show produced by television station WGN in Chicago. She later co-starred in the 1959 TV series “Too Young To Go Steady” and appeared opposite Steve McQueen in the motion picture “The Honeymoon Machine”. She was only 16 years of age when she won the part for which she is most famous, the role of Salome in the 1961 movie epic, “King Of Kings”.  She retired from acting after a role in another movie epic, the 1962 film “How The West Was Won” in which she played the daughter of Walter Brennan.  She returned to acting briefly in 1972, appearing in the NBC soap opera “Days Of Our Lives” but then permanently retired and moved to Seattle where she died of cancer at the age of 44.
