Robert S. Baker (Robert S. Baker)
Motion Picture and Television Producer, Director. Along with Monty Berman he co-produced many British films and television programs, most notably the hit 1960s series “The Saint”, which starred Roger Moore. Born in London, Baker worked as a photographer before serving in the Army Film and Photograph Unit where he would meet Berman during World War II. Following the war, they formed Tempean Films and produced dozens of B-movies from the late-1940’s throughout the 1960’s beginning with “A Date with a Dream” (1948). Among their other film efforts include “Melody Club” (1949), “Blackout” (1950), “Passport to Treason” (1956), “Jack the Ripper” (1959) and “The Treasure of Monte Cristo” (1961). Baker’s additional television endeavors include “The Baron”, “Gideon’s Way”, “The Persuaders!” and “Return of the Saint”. (bio by: C.S.)
